a good escape

fresh menu helpful hosts dinner reservations
I recently spent a few days at this lovely place, and i must say, it exceeded my expectations. the breakfast was a definite highlight. I enjoyed the fresh menu that catered to different diets. virginia and ben were such great hosts. They even helped book dinner reservations at excellent restaurants in the area. it added so much value to my stay.
i noticed the back of the bathroom door seemed to have missed the paint during the last update.

decent stay with minor issues

relaxed atmosphere quality product daily service porridge taste
the hosts are very cute and friendly. this accommodation feels like a home (.. ) the relaxed atmosphere puts you at ease, so the stay was enjoyable. breakfast is really good, with sausages available for dogs, a nice touch. quality products are served promptly.
the need to. a biscuit or two in the room. some hot chocolate, would have been welcome. seeing the packet of porridge with seeds and cereal with turmeric would alert those not liking such things.

mixed experience, issues in room

dated room mildew issue
The location was near the lake. It had a beautiful outlook.
The room felt dated. A bit tired. the bathroom needed refurbishment and the shower barely worked. A trickle came out. condensation covered the windows and mildew was on the frames.

ample parking friendly host homemade granola
the location is great and parking is ample. the hosts are really friendly and cute. breakfast was really good (especially the homemade granola!) and the service was attentive. i also found a microwave and fridge available to use.
the back of the bathroom door seems to have escaped the coat of paint that the rest of the room had.

weak wifi limited breakfast
I must say I was a tad underwhelmed by a couple of things. The promised WiFi was more like a WIFi-less experience. I struggled to get any signal at all, and when I did, it was slower than a snail. the breakfast was rather limited. I expected a wider variety of options, but it was pretty basic. Oh well, at least the coffee was hot.

Ben and Virginia were lovely hosts. The breakfasts were really nice.
Unfortunately, the Double Room Garden View I stayed in felt rather dated. The bathroom needs some work. The shower only trickled and the bath looked a little worn, so i wasn't fully happy.

satisfactory stay

breakfast selection bus access own bed bin emptying
breakfast had a great selection on offer. location had direct bus access to keswick, this reduced the need to use the car.
i had to make my own bed, this was unexpected. the bin was not emptied daily during my 3 day stay, i found this inconvenient.
