Really good Hospitality

great welcome antique furniture comfortable bed large bathroom
Karen gave me a great welcome to this home. The sitting room had tea and biscuits. Our bedroom displayed excellent taste in decor, especially the antique furniture pieces. The bed proved very comfortable. a super large bathroom included all amenities.
I saw the napkin at breakfast which was dirty. The napkin had been used previously. It had then been folded up. I don't think this is good enough.

The hotel is in a peaceful location. Shops and eateries are only a short walk away. I found the area to be very convenient for accessing local attractions.

musty smell dusty bathroom
The room had a really musty smell. I noticed it especially in the wardrobe. The bathroom needed a good clean. I saw cobwebs and dust everywhere. The bed was not comfortable at all, and the duvet was far too heavy. I was not impressed.

A wonderful stay in beautiful surroundings

The period building displayed beautiful decoration and furnishings. It was really special. Bedding and pillows provided great comfort. I slept wonderfully. The host provided great dinner recommendations and was helpful. The breakfast set me up for a day of sightseeing, which i thoroughly enjoyed.
I noticed dust in the room. I know the building is old, but cleanliness is still important.

the breakfast was good

excellent stay!!!

comfortable bed fresh plums great host
The bed was super comfortable, it was hard to leave it in the morning, but the amazing breakfast helped. the fresh plums stewed with cloves were an added bonus at breakfast, i loved it. karen was a great host. Nothing was too much trouble for her.
i found the room had a slight musty smell, particularly inside the wardrobe, it should be sorted out.

the hotel has a peaceful situation including a stream that runs through the grounds, it is very pleasant. it is a short walk to local eateries and facilities. there are various local attractions including gardens, historical places of interest and helmsley within a short drive.
