superb stay!
riverside situation imaginative choices fresh fruit salad
The riverside situation exceeded my expectations! the dinner featured imaginative choices like smoked venison salad and oxtail suet pudding! breakfast was generous, and the fresh fruit salad stood out. I found myself impressed. the room had a comfortable bed and a well appointed shower room!
I discovered the communal area leading to the bedrooms looked a little tired. The carpets could use some cleaning. I hope they address this minor detail soon.

The setting is quite beautiful, situated right on the river. I enjoyed hearing the soothing sound of water rushing nearby, it added tranquility to my stay.

quiet stay
quiet village lovely room excellent service
The location is in a quiet village near the river. I found the peacefulness really beneficial for a relaxing night. i had a lovely room overlooking the garden and river. the staff provided excellent service throughout my stay.
The water advisory was not communicated before my arrival, requiring boiled water instead of bottled water. I would have preferred bottled water.

my room had country style decor and a comfy bed. the bathroom size was good, it included a powerful shower with great temperature settings. a radiator and towel rack kept the bathroom warm.

The location is a bit off the beaten track. Still, it offers access to many walks. hadrian's wall and key locations are close by. there is also a village shop and cafe nearby, i visited it for a light late lunch.

The evening meals were very good both nights, i found the food quality excellent. breakfast service was first class. I was not disappointed. the menu includes a good selection of beers and lagers, i enjoyed it.

The premises are well-kept. It has a traditional north country pub with a restaurant. the hotel is dog friendly, but with some restrictions. i was able to hang around with coffee enjoying the sunshine. I did not feel rushed.

quiet stay near hadrian's wall
excellent breakfast very good meal warm room
the breakfast was first class. evening meals were very good. the room was warm and the shower was effective. it was really good value.
the tv in my room only had one channel, though the room was clean.

superb stay!
riverside situation warm welcome friendly team
i found the location very tranquil. it sits by a river, so the views are great. i had a really warm welcome and the team was really friendly. the food was lovely, and i liked it so much i stayed another night.
the tv was tiny, it was the size of a postage stamp.

peaceful setting friendly staff talented chef
the location by the river provided a peaceful setting. the staff was friendly and helpful, especially during breakfast service! i had both dinner and breakfast and found the food to be excellent. the chef clearly has talent.
the hallway carpets leading to the rooms needed a more thorough cleaning.

The staff was very friendly! The food was excellent. I really enjoyed every meal. The location is very tranquil. I found the quiet gardens peaceful.
The water tasted strange. I think bottled water would have been better.
