the location was excellent for my trip. i could visit the stone circle at castlerigg. keswick and derwentwater were nearby too.

the room was very cold and the bathroom had no heating. dinner included lukewarm vegetables. i complained but they said it was because of the wind. it took hours to get the room to a reasonable temperature, it was not very nice.

the room was so clean and all the staff were helpful and friendly. there were extra touches in the room. the bed was very comfy and everything smelt freshly laundered.

our bedroom was next to the kitchen ventilation, which switched off late at night, it was a very annoying sound. the bathroom was very small, the toilet and shower did not drain well, it was no success. the room was quite cold despite the heating.

i appreciated the attentive staff, they were always available and seemed to genuinely care. the restaurant provided a tasty and generous breakfast each morning. the location allowed for easy travel to the stone circle at castlerigg and the charming area of keswick and derwentwater.

the walls seemed thin, i could hear noises from neighboring rooms , made sleeping difficult.
