Tuggle'S Gap Roadside Inn, Floyd

Each room at Tuggle's Gap Roadside Inn is finished with knotty pine paneling and equipped with a mini-split air conditioning and heating unit. The keyless entry system uses a door code sent via text, eliminating the need for physical keys. Rooms include a smart TV, USB outlets on both sides of the bed, and a small refrigerator and microwave.

A full breakfast is included in the room rate and cooked to order by innkeeper Nick, a Stockholm native with hotel management training. The breakfast buffet features bacon, eggs, grits, toast, cereal, fruit, juices, and the inn's custom blend coffee roasted on site. Guests can also purchase bags of this coffee to take home.

The property offers an electric vehicle charging station and a fire pit with benches in the backyard. Cornhole games and a children's play area are available on the grounds. A gift shop sells items from Sweden, local nature guides, and supplies for mushroom foraging.

Innkeeper Nick, born in Stockholm and trained in hotel management in Switzerland, restored the 1938 motor court with Nordic-inspired details. The property hosts the annual Chanterellefest in August, featuring workshops on mushroom foraging and education. The gift shop stocks high-quality Swedish gifts and local foraging guides.
