mixed feelings about this stay

damaged curtainsslippery bathroom

i was disappointed with several aspects of this hotel. the curtains in my room were damaged, and the bed felt unsupportive. my shower lacked a proper door (a glass door was in the pictures), so the bathroom floor was slippery after each shower. i also observed dirt in the bathroom corners.

The location felt pretty isolated. it was quite a drive to get anywhere. This meant we were stuck eating at the hotel's restaurant more than i wanted. the food was okay, nothing special, but the prices were pretty steep for what you got. also, the promised 'mountain view' from my room was mostly obscured by trees. It felt a bit misleading!

i loved the serene ambiance. the tea gardens were fine. abin at the front desk gave helpful recommendations. prem, niharika, and the staff were really attentive. the room was spacious and matched the pictures. there was also a complimentary room decoration for our son's birthday and i'm so grateful.

the south indian food, i think, could use a little more improvement. it could be more better.

the hotel is on a hill with cardamom plants. i saw malabar squirrels. there were beautiful flowers lining the pathways. birds chirping and flowers.
