dark hallway street noise
i must admit i was a bit let down by the limited soundproofing i could hear street noise quite clearly even late at night it was hard to ignore a persistent dog barking early each morning also the lighting in the room was dim particularly in the evenings making it difficult to read or work comfortably i found myself straining my eyes more than once the dark hallway, street noise

historic charm with modern comforts
luxury linens comfortable bed
the room was huge with lovely windows in the bedroom and bathroom. luxury towels and soaps were in the bathroom. the bed was very comfortable and had luxury linens. i found the air conditioning and power points by the bedside helpful.
the metal staircase in my room was difficult to navigate (i would prefer a wider one). the upstairs area was very dark with minimal lighting. the steps were unlit. hopefully, this will be addressed in the future.

breakfast was a special treat with multiple courses of gourmet offerings. many items were homemade including breads, cakes, jams, and spreads. i thoroughly enjoyed the variety of choices.

Underwhelming stay. Expected more for the price
confusing arrival persistent barking
The lack of a proper reception area was confusing. we arrived and spent a while trying to find someone. also, the noise from a dog barking in the mornings was disruptive. It happened every day. the staff mentioned they had spoken to the owners but the barking persisted, frustrating. the room design felt impractical, with a metal staircase i found difficult to use.
