I found the staff very friendly. They were always available and willing to assist with any requests. The breakfast offered a wide variety of choices that set the stage for a wonderful day. The courtyard now has lovely seating where one can relax.
I noticed one towel had a very slight mark, which gave a small impression. It wasn't a major issue, but attention to detail matters.

I had a lunch for four in the bistro bar. It was a good experience. there was an excellent choice of food, presented well, and the ambience was nice. the staff was helpful. i could park in the designated car park upon arrival.
i searched for dog friendly accommodation. i got a reply thanking me for letting them know, and they added a note to my reservation. there was no mention that this would incur an extra charge, or how much it would be.

Location worked excellent. My room was quiet and the bed felt comfy. Parking was also excellent. The hotel looks interesting, I liked the ancientness of the site. Breakfast tasted delicious and substantial. I would stay here again.
