a simple, effective stay

I found the staff attentive and quick during breakfast service. the quality of breakfast was good, and the portion size was definitely decent. the road outside was quite busy, but it did quiet down later in the evening. i really liked that my dog was allowed to stay with me. That's always a plus.
i did notice no one was at reception when i first arrived, which caused a slight delay.

The staff were friendly and helpful . i found the breakfast to be of very good quality and the portion size was generous. the shower was also very good. I appreciated the strong water pressure and consistent temperature. i enjoyed the high tea. It was lovely, and the staff were really accommodating.
the room did seem to need a bit of updating.

My double room was comfortable and very clean. This. the bed was comfortable, promoting restful sleep after a long day of activities. i found the room to be well kept and a very nice space.

The breakfast service was swift, and the girls working were excellent. the christmas breakfast miscommunication was quickly resolved. Great service. dinner at the restaurant was good value. The price was £23.50 for two courses as part of aberdeenshire restaurant week.

I was really annoyed that the room needed some serious updating. the noise was UNBEARABLE!!! the beds were just awful. The mattress sagged terribly. it really impacted my stay in a negative way, i expect better.

the breakfast was excellent. i had dinner two nights and it was excellent as well. the room was tidied every day to a high standard, i noticed.
No ventilation was in the room or shower room. i had to ask for information like the car park code. i needed to vacate the room by 10.00 am. Most places allow 11.00 am.

The room i stayed in really showed its age , it definitely needed some updates. the noise levels were quite high . the bed wasn't the best either . The mattress sagged a bit too much for my liking. i think they really should invest in new beds and soundproofing.
