small room greasy bacon
the room i got was small it felt quite cramped i barely had space to move around it had a strange smell like old musty carpets i asked for a room change but they said all rooms were booked that was a real problem for me i felt claustrophobic. the breakfast was subpar the eggs were overcooked the bacon was too greasy i expected better for the price i paid

historic charm and warm hospitality
historical details good pressure freshly cooked breakfast central location
nicola, the owner, shared interesting historical details about the hotel during breakfast. i found the pressure in the shower to be quite good. the breakfast was freshly cooked (it was lovely). the hotel is located right in the center of the town.
the garden was inaccessible due to poor weather .

breakfast included a variety of choices, and i could select what i wanted each day. the eggs were sourced directly from hens on the hotel.

the room was beautiful and comfortable. i especially liked the story of the house presented at breakfast. the beautiful twin room was well-equipped with everything i needed .

the surrounding area has pubs and restaurants, all within walking distance. it is located in the heart of ireland so there are lots of things to experience (birr castle is nearby).

the building stands right in the town center. i found the location ideal for exploring by foot, especially a stroll down to the shannon.
