The continental breakfast had very good value. it had more food than i expect. the room and facilities met all my needs to a high degree. leanne, the manager, bring a tray to my room. She was very accomodating.
the pub closes early. the heating struggles a bit to keep the room warm. an electric heater is available, but this made a little noise. i turned it off overnight to sleep better.

breakfast includes porridge, cereals, yoghurts, fruits and pastries. there are good choices on offer. the food appears freshly prepared, it has delicious bowls and various options to start the day.

the room was very comfy and tidy. it had a good shower. toiletries are also provided by the hotel. there is a private entrance for all rooms and this is a great feature.

the hotel is near ettrick forest. i walked over the eildon hills. visiting the surroundings is very convenient. this provides good opportunities for outdoor activities.

i found the room very comfortable. the room décor was beautiful with all facilities. the ensuite was immaculate and the bed was comfortable. i appreciated the staff being friendly and helpful.
the normal breakfast was not available . i was provided with a tray of fruit, cereals, and croissants. i would have preferred a proper breakfast.

the superior family room WAS spacious I noted high ceilings the blackout blinds worked well. i SAW the staff were very friendly. the breakfast included a cooked to order vegetarian option
the pub closed early there WAS no evening meal available.
