basic menu dated room
the room was spacious enough and everything worked properly.
The menu in the restaurant was pretty basic. I found the food to be quite bland. this meant i had to take taxis into christchurch for meals, irritating. also, i think the pictures online misrepresented the room. It felt a bit tired and dated in person.

excellent service helpful staff limited menu dark room
The room was very clean (i am pleased). the check-in process was very quick and efficient. i had a lovely dinner at the pub. The service was excellent. the staff were also helpful.
the vegetarian menu was very limited, which i found surprising. also, the room was dark. there was no coffee machine, only a kettle. there was also instant coffee provided.

cold room unresolved situation
the ground floor room was large, acceptable.
My room was quite cold. i sent a message about it. They seemed to think i wasn't honest. they still didn't resolve the situation after that. the room temperature remained a problem.
