solid stay with minor setbacks

the hotel boasts amazing breakfast with many choices. the outdoor pool area is well kept. the bar staff are courteous. the hotel is super clean. i enjoyed the great pool bar. i appreciated the breakfast buffet selection. a complimentary bottle of madeira wine was in my room upon arrival.
the location on top of a hill was an issue. taxis were expensive. the hotel had a minibus shuttle. the shuttle schedule was crazy. i found the mini-bus to be of little use.

staff members were helpful with directions. the reception provided quick assistance. the breakfast service was attentive. i appreciated the efficient check-in. the team handled requests quickly. overall, service was effective.

i found the bed comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud i also appreciated the staff's attentiveness they handled all requests efficiently. the breakfast was good with many options and included lovely prosecco. the spa provided excellent massages the whole experience was rejuvenating.

The breakfast offered a great variety of options.
The air conditioning did NOT work properly in my beautiful room. It never cooled the room below 24°C (I think the hotel should look into this). I ended up sleeping with the balcony door open most nights. I heard barking dogs and buzzing mopeds.

i had a hire car and parking was convenient. i was given a map of the area. i went to the cocktail bar for a nightcap. the whiskey sour was the best i've ever had (i didn't expect that!).
the bed was very hard. we asked for the room to be cleaned each day, because you have to request it. this request was not fulfilled. the hotel's location is a bit away from the tourist area and decent amenities, which required quite a walk up hills.
