the staff was really helpful and friendly . i enjoyed a superb breakfast and the parking was free. the inn is near a lovely restaurant within walking distance of the hotel.

the location is great for walking in the peak district. kinder scout and derwent water are a short drive away. buxton and bakewell are also easily accessible from the location.

The staff made a packed lunch for my journey. This was a thoughtful touch. the owners provided excellent service, showing genuine care. i found the staff unbelievably friendly and accommodating.

The breakfast was amazing. I mean, the bacon was the best I've had in a long time. Access to the room was easy and parking worked just fine.
The drink making facilities were right next to a mold patch, so I didn't use it.

mixed experience due to noise and room issues
pub noiseadjustable heating
the noise from the pub downstairs was a real problem. i could hear everything happening until late into the night. the room was also quite cold and i could not adjust the heating myself. these issues detracted from what could have been a more restful stay.

The breakfast offered a good start to the day. The cook asked about my preferences, and the cooked breakfast was tasty. My room was comfortable and clean. The staff gave me a key, so I could return after the pub closed.
My room was located directly above the pub's outdoor seating area. Noisy drinkers kept me awake for a good portion of the night. Thin curtains did little to block a floodlight shining through the window. Parking was also inadequate.

The breakfast had many choices. I liked the option of a sausage for my dog. A separate entrance existed away from the pub. This was useful when the pub was busy. Staff members were very helpful throughout my stay.
There was some noise from the pub downstairs at night. I found this slightly disruptive. I recommend that measures be taken to reduce sound transmission between the pub and guest rooms.
