Acceptable but with some drawbacks
incorrect information small bed
I was a bit disappointed about the parking situation. I received a fine from British Rail Police after parking where directed, the website information was incorrect. The management didn't seem to care much about my complaint (Greg even avoided my calls), a less than stellar customer service experience. the bed felt a bit small for me.

the central location was acceptable, near many attractions.
Parking information was inaccurate. i received a fine after parking where directed initially. The management ignored my complaints. also, there were no cash payments accepted, inconvenient.

Excellent Stay Close to the Station
modern rooms great pub lovely garden
The rooms were super clean and modern. I found a great pub with amazing food and beers. A lovely little beer garden provided a sun trap. The location is ideal, being halfway between the river and the square.
I noticed the hotel website parking information was incorrect.

The hotel is near the train station so you have very easy access to transportation. Trains run regularly to York, facilitating convenient day trips to the city and other surrounding areas.

The location allows for easy walks in the village. The hotel is close to all amenities and attractions. The hotel is central.

The staff were very friendly and helpful . I received a warm welcome. I appreciated the daily cleaning services that maintained the room very well.

parking arrangement difficult parking
i was a little disappointed. previously, there was a parking arrangement nearby, it seems discontinued now. overnight parking is difficult to find, staff didn't seem fully informed of this. our room wasn't accessed by housekeeping as they couldn't find a key, that felt quite insecure!!!

train station spacious bathroom warm welcome
The location was very close to the train station. it provided convenient access to transportation. the room included a spacious bathroom with good lighting. It also offered ample counter space. i appreciated the warm welcome from the staff upon my arrival.
The availability of nearby parking seemed limited. I had to park a short distance away from the premises!
