Underwhelming stay with some issues
pool location shower problem
The building's history added a unique aspect to my stay.
The gym and small pool were in a separate building. To get there I had to walk outside. The showers in the main building were also out of order. I had to go back to my room to shower after using the pool and this was not good.

Really good Elizabethan Stay!
fine grounds historic feature hot shower
The hotel is amazing I savored every moment exploring its fine grounds and historic features. My room was spacious and very comfortable I especially enjoyed the super clean bathroom with its lovely hot shower. The flow of water was perfect it really enhanced my stay.
I noticed that some areas had limited hours for children at the swimming pool.

Wonderful Stay at Historic Location
picturesque grounds friendly team delicious food
The grounds were picturesque. A peaceful walk was a great experience. I found the dinner in the restaurant superb. The team were friendly and fun. The food was delicious. My partner particularly enjoyed the Ruinart champagne.
I had some trouble with the breakfast service. I waited longer than expected to place my order. I eventually had to seek out staff assistance. It was busier than usual, however, that is not ideal.

friendly staff historic feel immaculate grounds
the staff were friendly and helpful. the building had a nice, historic feel to it. the grounds were immaculate and i enjoyed seeing the ducks near the moat.
the inside public areas were not as nice as i expected.

underwhelming visit
slow service dated decor
i found several issues . the service at the bar was awfully slow, and when i tried to order food, i was told that many options were unavailable because there was no gas and an oven wasnt working. i ended up with a limited selection of cold sandwiches and pizza. additionally, the decor felt quite dated. these things detracted from the overall experience.
