Location

Quinta do Vallado is located along the banks of the River Corgo, near its confluence with the Douro River. Established in 1716, it is among the oldest and most renowned estates in the Douro Valley. This strategic position provides easy access to Peso da Régua and the breathtaking scenery characteristic of the region.

Vineyards

The estate boasts 65 hectares of vineyards, cultivated mainly with the Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, and Sousão grape varieties. The vineyards are located on schist slopes, facing south and west, at elevations between 50 and 450 meters. Around 10 hectares are dedicated to organic farming, aligning with sustainability principles.

Wine Production

Quinta do Vallado produces high-quality wines, including Port and table wines, from grapes harvested in vineyards with over 100 years of history. The winery features cutting-edge technology and traditional production methods, such as foot-treading in lagares for certain wines. The estate hosts wine workshops to engage guests in its rich winemaking heritage.

Accommodation

The hotel accommodates guests in 19 well-appointed rooms, comprised of five suites in the historical Casa Tradicional and six rooms in the Casa da Eira. Each room offers distinctive views of the surrounding vineyards and the River Corgo. For a more private experience, suites with private pools are available amidst the vineyards.

Dining Experience

Quinta do Vallado features an in-house restaurant offering dishes made from local ingredients, including vegetables cultivated on the property.
