the room was serene (it had a lovely view) and i appreciated the tatami mats. breakfast included beautifully presented vegetarian meals. the morning prayers offered a sense of peace, and i found the dharma talk very insightful.

the location was a bit difficult to find initially (i wish there had been clearer signage).

Really good Stay at a Tranquil Temple

I appreciated the meticulous preparation of the futon in my room while I was at dinner. The location afforded easy access to the Okunoin night tour, proving quite convenient. The staff ensured I had an early dinner at 5:30 pm to accommodate my tour schedule. I found this flexibility to be most helpful.

The lack of a sign at the front made locating the hotel slightly difficult upon arrival.

The hotel featured a shared onsen-style bath facility that was gender-separated and well-kept. The building included a guest dining area, allowing guests to enjoy meals. I found the territory to be really good for quiet contemplation.

The service at the temple in the morning proved to be a great experience with the Buddhist priest. The staff were friendly. They also provided excellent service throughout my stay. I was impressed by their attentiveness.
