ideal locationno wi-fivanished milk
The location was really ideal for walking the South Downs way. Breakfast was simple but fine.
I found no staff around when needed. The Wi-Fi was non-existent, and there wasn't a TV. I think the milk in the fridge had vanished by morning. I suspect someone else had it.

tom at reception helped us find our rooms and explained the facilities. we had a lovely en-suite room including eco friendly bathroom products. the garden room is available to guests, so we could make tea on arrival. breakfast in the garden room was plentiful and good quality.
The bed felt unstable. It was on wheels, and it moved when i shifted.

The room windows were open upon arrival. The heating was also not working for a while that evening. This made the night quite cold and uncomfortable. The kettle in the garden room was disgusting and smelly, I couldn't even make tea.

convenient locationcold foodstea facilities
The location is convenient for South Downs Way walkers. It avoids detours. The lodge promotes sustainability and eco-friendliness.
The absence of a full English breakfast seemed like a letdown. As a B&B in England, one anticipates this option. There were only cold foods. the room lacked tea and coffee facilities, a disappointment after a long day (I really wanted a cuppa).
