i found the evening meal and breakfast very nice. the pub area was also nice, a great place to unwind after a day of travel (i always appreciate a good local brew). i found the bathroom quite clean and well-kept. i appreciated the village location, very charming and peaceful.
Parking was a bit limited out back. It seemed non-guests also used the space.

The staff was attentive, offering helpful assistance. This made check-in fast and effortless, especially after a long journey. the breakfast service was timely and efficient, with all cooked items fresh, a detail i valued highly.

The location was very convenient for exploring local attractions. I really liked the well-presented breakfast with hot plates. The evening meal portions in the restaurant were generous. I found the bed comfortable, contributing to a restful night.
The windows could not be opened in my room, causing some stuffiness.

a really NICE stay

i liked the friendly staff. It was easy to walk to the steam railway. the hotel location is quiet. this hotel was excellent in every way, especially staff that ensure you have a good time.
the cleaning service after the first night was bad. Used towels left on the floor were not changed. Used teacups and glasses were not changed either.

The bar staff seemed to have selective hearing. I stood there waiting while they served someone who arrived later. breakfast included pastries only as i was about to leave.. not ideal timing. i also found a concerning amount of dust on the lampshade. I tested this and could write my name on it.
