Mixed Feelings About My Stay

information guidesmall roommissing amenities
The room included a quick information guide which I found helpful.
The room was small and lacked some essential amenities. I found no drinking water provided. There was also no shower gel, shampoo, or body lotion available, a significant oversight considering many guests are walkers trying to pack light.

a GEM in the country

sourdough pizzasking bedcooked breakfastfresh coffee
i especially liked the sourdough pizzas cooked in the pub's pizza oven, they were excellent. the room included a king size double bed, VERY comfortable after a day of walking. breakfast provided a cooked option, a good start to the day. the staff willingly filled our flasks with fresh coffee, a thoughtful touch for our walk later.
the washbasin felt a little pretentious for the otherwise perfect room.
Service
10/10
the staff was attentive and friendly, always ready to help with a smile. liam even arranged complimentary coffee at the village shop for us. such thoughtful gestures.

strange odormosquito problem
The room had a strange odor. it seemed like there was a previous leak from the boiler located in the room (it was room 3, i think). despite airing it out, the smell lingered. there were also many mosquitoes inside, but no mosquito net was available. i also heard the neighbors snoring really loudly. It's an old building so the soundproofing wasn't great, and i only got 4 hours of sleep (what made things even worse was that at 6 am, a fire alarm went off).
