the room was a good size and clean. the bed was comfortable and i had everything i required. the shower was also a good size. i found it easy to settle in after a long day.
the breakfast was not served until 10am. it meant i had to adjust my schedule.

the location was perfect for visiting relatives in the surrounding area. it was easy to access the main roads for travelling. the immediate surroundings offered a peace all around, away from the city noise.

The location suited my needs well, allowing easy travel around south essex. Breakfast impressed me with both value and quality. the food overall was great. i also appreciated the ample parking available at the hotel.
the bathroom sink was rather small, and the tap's placement made it a bit awkward to use. water flow from the tap was also minimal.

high temperaturefaulty thermostat
the room was quite warm. a fan was available, however it did little to alleviate the heat. the shower's water temperature was excessively high. the thermostat control was to be malfunctioning, preventing me from reducing the water temperature.

a mixed experience

The food in the restaurant was a letdown. We ordered tapas. the presentation was basic, and the dish sizes were small for the price. the pork belly bites weren't hot enough and lacked crispiness, i also heard the sound of an air fryer, it wasn't promising. in the bathroom, the toilet seemed to have bleach, but behind the lid, it was visibly dirty and had not been cleaned. The bedroom windowsill was also very dusty.

i felt very welcome as the staff were friendly and helpful. the bed was comfy, ensuring a GOOD night's sleep. the shower was hot, which i appreciate after a long day. it's a pity we are leaving after just one night.
the breakfast service time was a little late. i waited until 10.00am to have breakfast. this Wiped out most of my morning.

The staff were very attentive to my needs. The bar and restaurant provided good service. I found the rooms quiet and away from the main pub (a plus for relaxation). The rural location was great, and dogs are welcome.
The bed was a double, and the quilt barely met the edges. This made for a bad night's sleep. The towels provided were only hand towel size. A kettle and two cups were present, but no spoon was available.
