Since 1972 the property has been family-owned and operated, serving boaters, fishermen, and leisure travelers alike. Downtown Gloucester, Stage Fort Park, and multiple beaches are within walking distance or a short drive.

The hotel offers 30 rooms and junior suites, many with private balconies overlooking the marina or river, and renovated bathrooms with luxury fixtures. An indoor heated pool and jacuzzi are open year-round for guest use, regardless of season. Mile Marker One Restaurant serves local cuisine with seasonal outdoor dining on the Bridge Deck, which extends over the water. From December through February, guests can reserve Igloo Village dining - heated, private geodesic domes set on the waterfront deck. The restaurant also offers live music performances and a seasonal outdoor bar.

Custom packages include sailing excursions, fishing charters, and Cape Ann Whale Watch tours, all bookable through the hotel.
