Wonderful stay with excellent service

warm roomeasy check-inlight curtains
The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The room was super clean and warm. Check-in and check-out were easy. Meals were also of very good quality and very nice indeed (i especially enjoyed the breakfast).
The curtains let in a lot of light (it was difficult to sleep). There is a gap between the window and windowsill. This showed some lack of maintenance.

Acceptable stay experience

clean roomhelpful breakfastfaulty toiletlimited choice
The room was clean and had plenty of toiletries. The pub food was good too. We were leaving early the next morning, and the hotel provided a packed breakfast. That was helpful.
The toilet didn't flush correctly, and the surround fell off multiple times. The choice on the menu was limited too.

delicious lunchroast turkeyroast porkbland optiondirty tablesbreakfast canteen
I really appreciated the delicious Sunday lunch I had! The roast turkey and pork were both fantastic. I thought the Yorkshire puddings were especially nice, and the meat and vegetables were also prepared well..
I found just one gluten-free option on the menu. It was unfortunately quite bland. Breakfast felt a bit like a canteen. I noticed dirty tables without anyone clearing them.

inadequate heatingsmall portion
the heating seemed inadequate in certain areas. i found myself hoping for a bit more warmth in the restaurant during the evenings. also, the portion sizes for the price felt a little off.. it was as if they were aiming for presentation over quantity, and i would have preferred a more generous serving, especially after a long day outdoors.

clean roomparking chargeinconvenient process
The room was nice and clean. It met my basic needs for the night.
I faced a parking issue despite entering my car registration at the bar. Weeks later, i received a parking charge. disputing this charge with smartparking required proof of payments to the hotel. This process was inconvenient and added unnecessary stress to my stay. i would advise future guests to keep thorough records of their visit to avoid similar issues.
