Acceptable stay with a few drawbacks

The location was a short walk into town. The pool offered beautiful views of the area. The staff were helpful .
The walk from the hotel to town was uncomfortable. It was down an alley i found a bit unnerving at night. The rooms were basic and didn't quite match the photos online.

narrow alley spartan room
The walk into town was a bit dodgy. It involved a narrow alley, and my wife didn't like it, especially after dark. the room itself was pretty spartan. we ended up paying extra for an upgrade. the initial room didn't quite match the pictures online, and honestly, it fell short of expectations given the reviews i had seen.
