pleasant, but a little rough
convenient location national parks attentive staff unclean washroom shower problem floor dirt
the lodge located very close to two national parks. this made it easy for morning and evening safaris. i also found sigiriya rock accessible. breakfast and dinner was amazing, and staff seemed very attentive.
our room was not what i expect from a five star hotel. the washroom wasn't cleaned properly, and the shower wasn't draining well. after i complained, they unclogged it, but they didn't clean the floor.

large pool attentive staff lovely grounds limited seating wooden seating low handles
the lodge had great grounds. i enjoyed the large pool area. the attentive staff made our anniversary special by preparing a cake.
The poolside seating was very limited. Finding a spot was difficult. all seating through the hotel felt uncomfortable because its solid wood. door handles position was bad because of my back issues.

Superb Hotel Experience
clean room lovely pool area helpful staff
My lodge room was spacious. It was very clean too. The pool area looked lovely. Every meal I enjoyed tasted great. It even had a desert room. I would totally recommend this hotel to other travelers. The staff were very helpful and friendly. This place is great.
My room was nice. it lacked Sri Lankan plugs. Instead, it featured English-type plugs. I needed an adapter to use my electronics. The reception helped me the following day, it was a big help.

immersive grounds helpful staff spacious room
the hotel grounds felt immersive (i loved the wildlife around!). the staff, especially lalith, was helpful. i found the hotel kept very clean and the rooms felt spacious too.
i noticed some areas showed slight signs of age.

the hotel featured paths filled with trees that let me take in the natural surroundings at my own pace. there were little bridges and lakes, all easily accessible, to explore. the gym included three treadmills and two stationary bikes.

the service was attentive and hospitable without being intrusive, which i valued. the staff was warm, always ensuring things flowed smoothly, from check-in to departure. the reception staff were very professional and helpful (always smiling!).

the buffet spread offered a decent variety of options (especially considering the location). the dining area was beautifully set, particularly in the evenings. the desserts were delicious, with a wide selection available.

the room included two separate sinks and a rainfall shower. the room was spacious and well-appointed, with a rustic charm that matched the lodge's style. the balcony offered views where i could spot birds and monkeys.

the rooms where big. it included a big bed. complementary water was there. the pool was a good size.
customer service felt poor. i got no hotel information except the wifi code. there was no suggestions for places to eat.

large pool helpful staff peaceful setting
I found friendly and helpful staff, always ready to assist with any request. the pool is large. i noted it could use a few more sunbeds! the setting by the lake is lovely and peaceful. It offered a relaxing backdrop for my stay. the staff looked after me very well.
the bar service felt slow at times.

The restaurant offered at least five separate food areas, allowing guests to sample a wide range of dishes. I found new tastes, most of which were delicious. Thakshila provided great care and attention. the buffet had a good selection for both breakfast and dinner.

The room was very spacious! it included air conditioning. I found the beds comfy. it was like i was properly in the wild. the bungalow was very nice. The whole area is well maintained with brick pathways.
