Underwhelming Experience

missing signage dirty stairs
The location was quiet. It was good for sleeping.
I found a problem at check-in as it wasn't apparent where to go. There was no clear signage directing new guests and I found the chipped walls and dirty stairs off-putting. no one answers the phone if you need help, so be prepared to be on your own.

cold temperature lukewarm water
The room temperature felt quite cold, not exactly cozy (i mean, who wants to shiver?). also, the shower and taps barely managed to produce lukewarm water. A hot shower would have been much appreciated. such a shame since the room looked very nice otherwise.

the parking was secure and easy to access, acceptable.
I was annoyed by the lack of staff. There wasn't a manned reception at all. i also found the instant coffee and tap water provided in the room disappointing. i definitely expected more for the money i spent on the room.

friendly staff lovely location noisy door early noise
Check-in was quick. The staff was also friendly. The room was next to Cake and Culture. This was a nice bonus. The location near the village was fab.
The basic TV channels were not working. This impacted our stay negatively. Our bedroom door vibrated loudly each time the front door opened. Noises resembling a lawnmower were audible early in the morning.

Wonderful stay!

room decor rainfall shower spacious room helpful staff
The room decor had a lovely 1920s theme, I was charmed. The staff did answer straight away both times I reached out. The rooms were gorgeous, and spacious. The room had a roll top bath and a rainfall shower.
I found there was no breakfast facilities in the building itself.
Dining

A patisserie is next door. It is called 'cake and culture' and I went there. Food and staff there are lovely too, it was very convenient.

Communication from the hotel was clear, concise, and informative. Staff answered all my questions promptly. I am happy with the level of service I received .

Secure parking is available. The location is near Regency era houses. I love the architecture. A lovely pub is at the top of the road, it is called the Physician.
Location

The location is ideal, central to the city center. It took me 5-10 in an Uber. I enjoyed the nearby patisserie. It was a very convenient location.
