the location was acceptable for kohsan road and chinatown activities (if you're into that sort of thing).
The breakfast area seemed disorganized. Staff threw sheets around in the morning for folding. the whole place felt a bit old and not particularly well kept. there was a definite lack of that polished, cared-for vibe one might expect (considering i wasn't expecting much).

I found the location to be amazing with a short walk to major temples. The hotel's proximity to the river and Khaosan Road was convenient! I really enjoyed the leafy pool area right at the entrance. The rooftop yoga was a must, I thought.
The noise was hard to handle at times as I could hear everything from other rooms and the street. Walls seem thin.

Decent Stay, but Some Issues
persistent smellthin walls
The noise level was DEFINITELY a problem (and not in a good way). I could hear everything from other rooms, including doors slamming. The bathroom also had a persistent smell, perhaps from the pipes, that forced me to keep the door closed. I expected better soundproofing at the price I paid.

the location allowed easy exploration of nearby temples and the royal area.
The wifi service was terrible. I could never connect. the bathroom lacked separation between the shower and toilet, resulting in a soaked floor after each shower. hot water was non-existent. Showers were ice cold.
