the tatami mats felt nice. the air conditioning worked well in my private room. it was a pleasant walk to many famous spots. i could wake up and walk to yasaka shrine easily.
the room had a smell that bothered me. i thought it might be normal for ryokans at first. other ryokans did not have this unusual odor. i found the shower baskets consistently looked dirty.

Charming Stay in Traditional Japanese Style

equipped kitchencozy common roomfree yukatas
I really enjoyed the traditional style of this accommodation. There was a kitchen stocked with coffee, tea, dishes, a microwave, a cooker and a kettle. I spent time in the common room upstairs (it was SO cozy!). Free yukatas and ear plugs were available, i thought that was a nice touch.
The soundproofing was minimal so it was a little hard to sleep at times.
Location
10/10
The accommodation provides convenient access to major shrines. I walked everywhere in the area and it wasn't far from the train station. Exploring was easy due to its proximity to local attractions.
Rooms
9/10
My room included a comfortable futon and tatami mats. The room was equipped with both heating and air conditioning. It created a cozy and traditional atmosphere that enhanced my stay.
Facilities
8/10
The shared bathroom was always clean. The kitchen had modern appliances for guest use. Laundry services were available at a small cost (100 yen per wash and dry).
Dining
9/10
The kitchen offered complimentary tea and coffee. This allowed for convenient beverage preparation. Though there's no on-site restaurant, a well-equipped kitchen is available for cooking your own meals.

My room had a garden view, something I found very peaceful. The futon was comfortable, resulting in restful sleep. Natsuki at the front desk offered superb assistance. I appreciated that greatly.
The dryer cycle lasted only 15 minutes, which I found insufficient.

fluent englishconvenient locationeasy travelingminimal soundproofing
I found the staff very helpful. They spoke fluent english. my room was near yasaka shrine, a very convenient location. the proximity to a bus stop made traveling easy. It was close to many destinations.
the soundproofing in the building was minimal due to its age. i could hear a lot of noise, especially since my room was downstairs. this made it difficult to sleep well.
