Charming Stay in Historic Building
easy access traditional drinks lovely staff beautiful feature
The hotel's location allowed easy access to many restaurants. The bar had traditional drinks, and the staff was lovely and friendly. I found the staircase to be a beautiful feature from the late 1800s. The restaurant area with wood details enhanced my experience.
The room was very old and seemed a little tired.

My room had a balcony, and it was more than adequate. The bed felt comfortable, and the historic finishings added charm. I observed that a glass lit fireplace provided a cozy atmosphere.

Salt and Whiskey served delicious food and drinks. The atmosphere felt inviting, and I found the staff friendly. A non-alcoholic house drink was quite yummy and refreshing for me.

Victor, probably a manager, greeted me often. Addy at the front desk checked me in quickly. I felt that the staff were attentive and seemed to care about my experience.

The hotel had a courtyard, and it was to be a great place for reading. I noted the presence of a fountain that enhanced the courtyard's ambiance. The hotel is also dog friendly and kid friendly.

mixed feelings about my stay
full valet unhelpful staff
I was really annoyed by a few things. first, the valet parking was a total rip-off. They said it was full when i checked in, so i had nowhere to park! i had to park blocks away, super inconvenient. also, the front desk staff didn't seem to care much or offer any help.

extra fees price transparency
the location was acceptable to the gaslamp district the streets were reasonably quiet
i found that extra fees looked at checkout they included a pet fee and a resort fee i was not informed about this previously this lack of price transparency is not acceptable i did not appreciate finding these unexpected charges added to my bill
