Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge, Kalkrand

Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge is situated within a scenic vlei on the western outskirts of the Kalahari Desert. The main building features a restaurant with an open fireplace and a fully stocked bar, alongside the newly established Kalahari Lounge, which offers an extensive whiskey selection. A swimming pool and a spacious deck area provide relaxation options while enjoying the beautiful landscape.

The lodge comprises eleven individual suites, each uniquely designed to provide ample space and privacy. Superior Suites include large windows that offer stunning views of the nearby watering hole and the expansive Kalahari savannah. Every suite is equipped with private shaded view decks and an outside shower, enhancing the connection to the natural surroundings.

Guests can discover the Kalahari Desert through a network of well-signposted hiking trails or on bicycles. Nature drives are available during the morning and afternoon hours, providing opportunities for wildlife observations. Additionally, the lodge offers guided full-day hikes that include two nights' accommodation for a deeper exploration experience.

Kalahari Red Dunes Lodge is conveniently accessible via a tarmac road. It is located 190 km from Windhoek, on the B1 towards Mariental and Keetmannshop. The lodge's location allows for stunning views of the Kruger plains and the Dune landscapes, combining the unique aspects of both the Kalahari and the Karoo desert.
