Mixed Feelings About This Stay
long distance room comfort
The room wasn't ideal. It was quite a walk to both the restaurant and the reception desk (seemed like a LONG way, honestly). the room didn't really live up to my expectations regarding comfort. I expected a little more considering the price.

a tender embrace amidst the wild
flavorful food convivial atmosphere knowledgeable ranger easy access
The boma dinner was a highlight. The food was flavorful and the atmosphere convivial. i especially enjoyed the convenience of having elephants visit the waterhole right next to the restaurant. the game drives were amazing, with knowledgeable game rangers who made each drive a new adventure. the location provided easy access to the pilanesberg national park for self-drive explorations.
The game drives were a bit crowded. More space would have enhanced the experience a little bit.

breakfast included a varied buffet with both hot and cold options, a delicious start to each day of our romantic getaway. the boma dinner on saturday offered lovely food and a great atmosphere. guests can watch elephants drink at the waterhole while dining.

Really good Wildlife Proximity
delicious food organized game drive
The staff demonstrated amazing hospitality. Their friendliness was noticeable. The food was delicious. A highlight was the safari tour including dinner out in the bush. The location and the organized game drives contributed greatly to my nice stay.

The restaurant provides a beautiful viewing point. The plains and distant mountains provide a fine backdrop! Wildlife frequently appears near the waterhole, offering constant viewing opportunities. The viewing hide allows for closer observation of various animals.

Breakfast included a pleasing fruit selection and waffles which appealed to children. The standard of dinner was good, I found the boma dinner a nice change from the regular buffet. The resort offers enjoyable and quality meals.

solid stay with pleasant wildlife views
lovely deck buffet food
I found the location very convenient, especially the deck. it overlooked a waterhole, and elephants came to drink there! the kids were thrilled. There were multiple pools available. the food was fine. The restaurant provided a buffet with plenty of options.
The mattresses were very uncomfortable. they also seemed a bit small for the beds. i found the lack of real coffee disappointing. The instant packets in the room weren't great. i would have preferred a better coffee option.

The staff remembered the regulars and seemed helpful. the front office personnel were always friendly. It seemed like a warm welcome! the service extended from the gardener to the reception, which i appreciated.

the lodge sits inside pilanesberg national park. it's between the smaller, exclusive lodges and the cheaper rest camps. i could book another game drive for a reasonable price, though the location was perfect!

wonderful stay!
boma dinner large selection
I loved the boma dinner. There was so much variety from the kudu potjie to the large braii meat selection. breakfast and dinner buffets were also good. there was too much variety and delicious food!
i had a single self catering room and unfortunately the wall was porous. i could hear everything from the adjacent bedroom, including a smoker's cough, which disturbed my sleep. big red signs said no smoking on the patios! but the guests did not listen to those signs.

the boma dinner featured kudu potjie and a large variety of braai meats. breakfast included a waffle and pancake station, which the kids particularly enjoyed. dinner buffet offered personalized food options.

staff members were very cute and friendly, i noticed a "how can i help" attitude. the game drive was well-organized with coffee offered at the 5:30 am meeting. the staff were very attentive during the dining experience!

sincere staff daily game drives overall cleanliness no halal uncomfortable vehicle lacking heat
The cleanliness was apparent throughout the hotel. The staff was helpful (i felt very welcome). The included game drives happened twice a day.
There was no halal food option. The chef tried to accommodate, however it was not quite the same. There was no heat in the room, but plenty of blankets were provided. I noticed the safari vehicles were less comfortable.

dirty carpet stale fruit
The room carpet seemed dirty to me as I have a crawling baby. Fruit flies were present in the breakfast buffet with stale fruit. The grapes were going off.
