Laivahostel S/S Bore offers cabins with private bathrooms on a historic ship docked in the Aurajoki River. The hostel sits 500 metres from Turku Castle and is within walking distance of the Viking Line ferry terminals for services to Stockholm and Mariehamn. Bus number 1 stops a two-minute walk away, connecting guests to the city centre in about 10 minutes. Turku Train Station is a 10-minute drive from the boat, and a supermarket is less than a five-minute walk away.
Historical Experience
The S/S Bore is a decommissioned cruise ship built in 1960, now serving as part of the Forum Marinum maritime museum. Guests can purchase a separate ticket to visit the Bore Museum Exhibition on board, which includes original interior cabins and the bridge. The ship has a designated smoking area and outdoor furniture on the sun terrace.
