Laivahostel S/S Bore offers cabins with private bathrooms on a historic ship docked in the Aurajoki River. Each cabin has a wardrobe and access to a TV lounge equipped with a small library and newspapers. Guests sleep in original ship cabins that are small, clean, and include linen that must be placed on the bed at check-in.

Free parking is available next to the boat using a parking disk, and free Wifi is offered in all areas of the ship. Guests can use the communal kitchenette with a fridge, microwave, and tea and coffee making facilities. A morning sauna operates between 6 and 10 am, and lockers are provided at the 24-hour front desk.

Breakfast is served from a buffet starting at 6:30, with options such as breads, cold cuts, cheese, yoghurt, granola, fruit, oatmeal, boiled eggs, and coffee or tea. A cafe at the stern of the ship offers drinks and snacks on a furnished deck overlooking the harbour. Special diet menus are available upon request, and vending machines are located on board.
Location & Transport
The hostel sits 500 metres from Turku Castle and is within walking distance of the Viking Line ferry terminals for services to Stockholm and Mariehamn. Bus number 1 stops a two-minute walk away, connecting guests to the city centre in about 10 minutes. Turku Train Station is a 10-minute drive from the boat, and a supermarket is less than a five-minute walk away.
Historical Experience
The S/S Bore is a decommissioned cruise ship built in 1960, now serving as part of the Forum Marinum maritime museum. Guests can purchase a separate ticket to visit the Bore Museum Exhibition on board, which includes original interior cabins and the bridge. The ship has a designated smoking area and outdoor furniture on the sun terrace.
