lighthouse stay

sea view friendly staff comfortable bed food selection
the location was special with my room facing the sea directly below the lighthouse. dinner in the hotel restaurant was delicious, and the staff were very friendly. i found the king-size bed in my cozy room very comfortable and the blackout curtains ensured a good night's sleep (even during a gale). the restaurant's food selection was great.
the road leading up to the lighthouse showed some signs of wear.
Service
9/10
the owners were attentive and even set up a dinner table in the lounge, so i could have my dog with me. rachel, the waitress, was particularly amusing and helpful.
Dining
10/10
I enjoyed the five-course dinner menu. The monkfish starter and chocolate soufflé were delicious. the chef explained his experiments with flavours and locally sourced ingredients (a nice personal touch). the alcohol was reasonably priced.
Rooms
9/10
the room included a comfortable bed and quiet atmosphere, ensuring a restful night. there were blackout curtains. i had a good view of the lighthouses in northern ireland.
Location
9/10
the location is remote and beautiful, with a unique experience of staying in a lighthouse setting. the scenery provided an amazing experience and the experience was nice. the views were lovely, especially on a clear night.

noticeable potholes lukewarm reception
the evening meal was excellent , with a tasty five-course menu.
the hotel looked uncared for upon arrival , with noticeable potholes in the drive. a musty smell greeted me inside , and the reception felt lukewarm. the room lacked practical touches like a bedside table , and the bathroom was dated and without necessary amenities like hooks or shelves.

blackout curtains big wine selection excellent restaurant sticky carpet huge potholes uncared front
the bed had blackout curtains, so i slept great. the hotel also has a big wine selection. i found that the restaurant food was way better than some hotels i've been.
i found the carpets sticky and smelly. the drive to it had huge pot holes. the front of the hotel seemed uncared for with dead flowers outside.
