A Mixed Experience

deep-fried sconemissing sausage
There was no Lorne sausage and the potato scone was deep fried. I found this disappointing. It didn't meet my expectations for a hotel of this supposed standard. I would have liked to see a more traditional Scottish breakfast.

Comfortable Stay with Excellent Facilities

separate showerhigh quality fitmentswarm atmosphereopen fires
The room included a bath and a separate shower. The fitments looked to be high quality. I did not spend much time at the hotel due to the short duration of my visit. The building has much character and open fires create a warm atmosphere.
The evening meal prices seemed high and the menu was somewhat limited so I ate elsewhere.
Facilities
9/10
The hotel features open fires that add a warm touch to the interior and create a cute ambiance . There is parking available so transportation is easy. The hotel provides easy access to nearby river walks too.

Understaffed and Lacking Privacy

slow servicelacking privacy
The service in the restaurant suffered from being understaffed. I waited an excessive amount of time for my dinner. My 'Junior Suite' was not what I expected because it lacked comfortable seating, only providing a dining table and chairs. The absence of blinds or screening meant I had to keep the curtains closed for privacy, as the windows faced a car park and a public pathway.
