mixed feelings about this stay

hot roombathroom mould

The room was hot, and there was no fan available. (i swear, i almost melted) the bed was also noisy. Every movement resulted in loud creaks. i also noticed some mould in the bathroom. It was not a pretty sight.

i HAD issues with the food temperature. my SUNDAY lunch LOOKED good BUT it WAS cold. THE staff heated the SAME plates, ruining the yorkshire puddings. THEY charged FULL price DESPITE the PROBLEM and offered NO discount.

the room was exceedingly hot and provided no means of cooling. i found no fans and no air conditioning available . the bed emitted a loud noise with every movement, which greatly disturbed sleep. also, i observed mould in the bathroom, which detracted from an otherwise acceptable accommodation.

I stayed in early July and found the room perfect. The bed was comfortable. I also enjoyed the historic touches throughout the hotel. The food was delicious. I tried the fish and chips, scallops, and brie salad.

The staff gave us a gluten free beer by mistake. We did not notice this error until after tasting it. The staff should double check the labels to prevent mistakes.
