a balanced stay
central location colonial veranda dirty cups thin wall
the location was great and very central to the town's eateries. a short walk across the road leads to the government gardens, i loved the morning coffee on the colonial veranda.
The cleaner did leave our dirty cups and glasses without replacing them. That was a letdown. because it's an old building, i could hear people in the room next door showering and moving around.

Colonial Charm and Central Location
colonial feel convenient location available towels good linen
The hotel has a distinct colonial feel. The location is very convenient, a short walk to Government Gardens. Check-in was quick, and i found the pool towels readily available (a PLUS!). The room also had good linen on the bed.
The room felt a little outdated. I believe updates to the bathroom would improve the overall experience.

My classic double room featured comfortable beds. The air conditioning unit worked efficiently to warm the room quickly during winter. I had convenient access to public parking from my balcony room, which simplified my arrival process.

The breakfast includes fresh orange juice (the BEST i had!). The hotel restaurant provides a good dinner option. The fish of the day was delicious, and the crumbed scallops were really good, melting in my mouth.

The check-in process was easy. The front desk staff speak multiple languages, including Chinese. They provided helpful information, suggesting free parking options near the hotel. I found this very helpful.

The hotel provides access to hot pools and a sauna for relaxation. The lobby includes two fireplaces, maintaining a comfortable temperature. The hotel provides convenient access to the Polynesian Spa and the Howard Morrison Theatre, both within walking distance.

historical charm near the gardens
convenient location town center friendly staff quiet surroundings
the location was convenient being near the town center and the public gardens were a short walk the fireplace in the lounge added warmth and character after dinner. the bedroom felt restful with quiet surroundings. the staff were friendly and helpful making the stay more personal.
the pillows seemed like they needed an upgrade for better support

Acceptable boutique hotel
central location spacious room closed pools lukewarm breakfast
The hotel has a central location allowing me to walk to the lake and restaurants. The character and features of the hotel created a unique look I liked. The room was spacious with high ceilings and a chandelier. The color scheme and soft furnishings created a nice vibe.
The hotel pools were closed so I had to use another spa five minutes away. I thought the breakfast was lukewarm including the coffee. It was not what I expected. There was also no hot water one evening.

broken tiles cheap laminate
The location in the city center met my needs. Walking to dinner was easy.
The bathroom had broken tiles, and cheap laminate countertops cheapens the overall look. I was really disappointed. The bathroom needs updating.
