really good experience

simple planning private room food selection
the planning for my birthday celebration was simple. the staff dressed the private room beautifully which amazed me. most guests stayed overnight in beautifully presented, comfortable rooms. cask ales and great food selection were highlights.
A waitress was brusque. She told us to move from the empty bar as tables were reserved. her manner felt impolite. She could have asked more nicely.
Dining
9/10
The quality of the food is high. Breakfast reminded me of a treat. the hotel offers a selection of fine cask ales. the environment is warm and friendly, resembling a country pub.

steep price parking absence
the staff were friendly,... adequate. i guess.
The price seemed steep for what i experienced. The value wasn't there. also, the absence of readily available parking created some serious inconvenience. i had to circle the area a few times, quite a ridiculous waste of my precious time

road noise? oh joy!

constant road excessive noise
The decor was alright. Nothing to write home about, but acceptable.
Our "superior" double room happened to be right next to the road, lovely. the noise was constant, and i really mean right next to it. I could practically reach out and touch a lorry. sleeping? not so much!
