a mostly fine experience
great locationfriendly staffcold roomstiff pillows
the location was pretty great. its especially beautiful during a frosty morning in winter. i also found the rooms to be very clean. the staff was friendly.
the room ended up being too cold, this cause all of us to catch a cold. the bedding was old and the pillows felt hard, so we were not comfortable.

empty minibarpoor soundproofing
I found a few things less than stellar. The minibar was empty. I expected at least some water. The soundproofing wasn't great. I could hear noise from nearby rooms. It was like listening to my neighbours' conversations through a tin can. No one wants that kind of intimacy on a trip so it became a bit annoying.

excellent stay
early check-incommanding viewsself catering
the staff allowed an early check-in. this was a kind gesture. the location offers commanding views. it is quietly rural. we had a self catering apartment. it was perfect for our stay.
The windows couldn't be opened. There was lots of condensation and it smelled damp.

Lovely Gardens and Food!

Hotel gardens appear pretty. The room contained a good bed I liked. I dined in the restaurant and enjoyed the Thursday menu a lot. Claire served me breakfast, I found her lovely and accommodating.
The windows did not open. there was lots of condensation in room. The room smelled damp.
