a good retreat

helpful crewreally good breakfastbland food
the villa was matched by the helpful crew. they met our needs. the team also helped with adapters because we forgot ours. breakfast was really good , especially the curries.
i booked half board , which i don't recommend. the food tasted bland , and i am sure there are better options. our main issue was with the wine list , as it was nearly non-existent.

the hotel is located within walking distance of key spots. many shops and restaurants are easily accessible. the location offers a calm oasis on the inside , away from the bustle.

the rooms were spacious , luxurious and immaculately presented. the beds provided the best night's sleep. rooms are serviced twice a day , keeping everything perfect. extra cushions added to the comfort.

The breakfast included AMAZING Sri Lankan curries. The team helped with forgotten adapters, nice. Rooms were spacious and clean.
The management seemed unhelpful during a difficult time. They ignored calls from me when I was trying to resolve a reservation issue. The reservation team did not help me.

i encountered difficulties with the in-room safe. it was non-functional upon my arrival, and despite reporting it, it remained unrepaired during my three-night stay. this caused some inconvenience. furthermore, i was disappointed by the limited variety of tea selections in the room. i expect a broader selection of herbal and black teas.

The room was very spacious and beautifully decorated in colonial style. The bathroom was large and well-appointed. It featured both a shower and a bathtub. Breakfast was excellent. It was served in the fine garden and added to the good experience. The staff were courteous and helpful. They arranged for us to spend a beach day at another Taru Villa hotel, which we appreciated.
I might suggest adding thin privacy curtains to rooms that look out onto the pool! rather than having to pull across the heavier curtains, blocking out the natural daylight.

Breakfast offered both Sri Lankan and Continental options, both proving to be of excellent quality. The chef prepared delicious food. The staff was forthcoming and ensured all culinary needs were met. It added to the stay.
