i found the food delicious. the decor changes and bar improvements are inspiring. the staff are quiet and competent, which i appreciate. the breakfast was amazing (especially the freshly baked bread!).
The hotel lacks phone signal and internet in some areas. I could only access wifi in the bar, slightly inconvenient.

the classic double room had everything i needed and provided great value. the rooms are very clean ensuring a comfortable environment. the rooms offer a quiet space allowing for a restful night.

the hotel is currently being updated but it did not detract from my pleasant stay. the hotel features a bar providing a place to unwind. dogs are not allowed in the restaurant preserving a pleasant dining environment.

mixed experience. uneven quality
worn furniturecreaky door
The furniture in the room seemed quite worn. the wardrobe door was actually hanging off, a surprise. also, the shower curtain had mold and the bathroom door creaked badly. These things detracted from the stay.

i enjoyed my stay very much, the friendly staff, the breakfasts was excellent with a great selection of food. i also found the location very good for hiking, the staff was friendly and accommodating.
internet was limited in some areas, it caused minor issues for me.

I found the breakfast quite really good with local produce. They handled dietary needs well. teesdale sausages are worth mentioning.
the phone signal was not available, and i struggled with internet access outside the bar area.

The hotel room provided a good-sized space that felt comfortable. The breakfast offered a good selection of choices, and the service was lovely. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful .
The room furniture looked tired and somewhat shoddy. I noticed the wardrobe door was hanging slightly off. The bathroom door made creaky noises when opened or closed.
