the hotel location is great. the rural area contains interesting history. the room had plenty of parking available. the room was great value for money..
the food was very average, and my evening meal was overpriced. it was not even takeaway quality.

The track behind the building by the river was wonderful for a walk. I saw the remains of a Roman bridge and fort nearby, quite interesting. The room had real character, which I liked. I appreciated the friendly welcome from the staff.
I noticed the main hotel and bar could use some refurbishment.

Staff members were approachable and they made me welcome. They were very helpful . The breakfast service was plentiful, providing many options to set me up for the day..

I had Sunday lunch at the hotel restaurant and it was quite lovely. The breakfast offered many selections to choose from, and they seemed quite delicious. The pub has a limited dinner card, but there's ample choice.
