the staff were friendly. the food also stood out, it tasted great. I had a really nice time overall. the village seemed attractive.
the room wasn't very clean, the sink was dirty. the toilet roll holder was hanging off the wall and looked broken. I found these issues off-putting. the shower tray was also dirty.

the room was spacious. it met my basic needs.
The plumbing had an awful smell. It really ruined the downstairs. i also found dog hair all over. It needed a good cleaning. sleeping there wasn't very nice.

The breakfast was plentiful, so i was ready for a day of exploring (i liked the pastries). my room was a good size and airy. It was perfect. i had one meal in the inn. The staff was happy to stay open late. there was plenty of parking available on the premises.
the shower head was somewhat difficult to position, but i managed.

The pub offers a menu with very high quality cuisine. I loved dining in the restaurant. i sampled various dishes paired with excellent local beers. the breakfast was also well-prepared and of high quality.

the hotel offers walking opportunities in the berkshire downs and the lambourn valley trail, if desired. it is a short drive to various attractions such as the stone circle in avebury. highclere castle is also easily accessible by car.

The staff were friendly enough. They did their job.
The room cleanliness was questionable. I noticed a stain on the carpet near the bed. the television remote was missing buttons so it was difficult to change channels. also, the shower pressure fluctuated wildly, it was either a trickle or a fire hose.
