The staff were attentive. The room was romantic and had a fine headboard.
I was NOT impressed with the unexpected deposit of £50 I was charged. I was told it would take 48 hours to get the balance back, minus the cost of breakfast. I wish I'd known this. The old beds were small (the double bed measured 140cm, barely a double bed!).

the location was acceptable as it was close to where i needed TO be.
I EXPECTED more from this hotel. the room felt small. i did NOT like that there was no lift. Carrying my luggage up several flights of stairs was a struggle. the noise from the street was awful, especially late at night.

i got a minibar stocked well. the front desk staff showed attentiveness without being overbearing. the quiet ambiance was something i really appreciated after busy days. crisp cotton bed linen helped to ensure a decent night's sleep too.

i appreciated the convenient location. it allowed quick access to many interesting sites. the coffee provided in the hotel was surprisingly good it tasted better than coffee from a nearby café.

i got a superior double room. the room had unique period decor and i found the bed to be very comfortable. i was happy.
