lovely stay
recent refurbishment friendly staff tasty breakfast quality facilities
the building had recent refurbishment throughout. i found friendly staff available. the breakfast was so good (the full english was particularly tasty!). my room included quality facilities.
the stairs to the bathroom were a little cold.

the hotel's location allowed easy access to local amenities. walking to the station and village required little effort. the area was safe and accessible at all times, i thought.

underwhelming stay
small room size street noise
The location was central. I suppose that met expectations.
The room size was ridiculously small, barely enough space to turn around. i also found a concerning amount of dust under the bed. Clearly, cleaning wasn't a priority. the noise from the nearby street kept me awake most of the night. i definitely expected better for the price.

easy access friendly staff tiny room outside noise
i found the venue nice with easy access to the high street. the building felt beautiful and looks recently refurbished throughout. it has loads of character and a team of friendly staff.
The room was around 6ft, 6ft. so, it was tiny. there was so much noise outside. Secondary glazing could help.

some issues
hot room stiff shower door
the room i booked was hot at night it was really uncomfortable. a fan was available in the room however it circulated the hot air. the window barely opened and this made things worse. the shower door was also hard to open and there was black mold visible in the shower. the shower basin flooded each time i used it this was really inconvenient.

great surrey stay
fabulous beer tasty pizza great service
i stopped in after a long walk in the surrey hills. the beers were fabulous and the cocktails well-made. the pizzas were the tastiest i've had in a long time. the service i received was great.
the room faced the beer garden so it became louder at night. i could hear conversations clearly, made sleeping difficult. i wish there had been better sound insulation.

the staff welcomed me warmly and were generally helpful. they provided quick assistance when i requested an extra pillow and directions to local attractions. the bar service was friendly too
