The hotel breakfast was a letdown because they don't have a restaurant. Breakfast was delivered to my room and it wasn't good. I wasn't able to pick what I wanted to eat. The staff couldn't help with restaurant reservations, made planning my meals difficult.

The room was gigantic. The amenities were replenished EVERY day. The location was stellar. All of that was AMAZING!!!
The breakfast was really bad because we could not choose what to eat. The first day we had ONLY the Japanese-style breakfast. On other days we were offered an international breakfast. It was very disappointing.

Wonderful Gion Hotel

The location proved fantastic near Gion's attractions and the canal. I appreciated the ability to open windows for fresh air. The furnishings were beautifully curated, including excellent bathroom fittings. I found the space very large and comfortable for spreading out.
The hotel lacked a restaurant which was a problem since I booked with breakfast.
