Situated on the eastern shore of Bassenthwaite Lake, the park is surrounded by the stunning Skiddaw mountain range. This setting allows for a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking and nature walks, suitable for all skill levels. The park is six miles north of Keswick, easily accessible via the A66 road.

Nature and Wildlife

The park is adjacent to special scientific interest areas, providing a natural habitat for local wildlife. Bassenthwaite Lake is known for being a feeding ground for ospreys that nest nearby in Whinlatter Forest. Guests can engage in Osprey Watch activities during the nesting season, which runs from April to late August.

The park is licensed to launch a limited number of vessels onto Bassenthwaite Lake during the boating season from March to November.
