The food was AMAZING!!! Dinner in the oak panelled Jacobean dining room with an open fire was a highlight. Breakfast was also excellent. I found a very nice circular local walk at Ogden Water.
My room could use a bit of a makeover.

Acceptable stay with some issues

friendly welcometorn wallpaperlimited choice
the staff were excellent a friendly welcome.
the rooms are very basic and offer little more than a premier inn for a premium price. there is nowhere comfortable to sit with your party. the disabled bedroom still had the torn wallpaper, ivy growing through the window and dirty bathroom. the choice on the continental breakfast buffet is limited it is poorly located and the area smells.

amazing stay!

quick check-insuper clean roomrelaxing gardens
gift vouchers from my kids were such a great surprise! the receptionist greeted me warmly and check-in was super quick. my room, a split-level suite, was super clean. sure, it could use a small refresh, but it had everything i needed! the bed featured really comfy with lovely bed linen. the gardens are well kept with plenty of seating and i spent the afternoon there, it was so relaxing.
the wardrobe rail was difficult to reach, and it was too small for my clothes! there was no soap dispenser in the shower, i found that a little inconvenient.
Dining

dinner was in an oak panelled dining room, it featured an open fire. service was traditional. breakfast had fast hot food and a generous buffet with many homemade treats. i loved every meal!
