Good Stay and Excellent Service

comfortable bedfree parkingshower temperature
Our stay included a complementary suite upgrade. The suite had a comfortable four-poster bed and a sitting area. A bottle of complementary fizz was a nice touch. Free parking was available, a convenient perk.
Adjusting the shower temperature proved difficult. It was stuck on hot. Alternating between the handheld and overhead shower was not possible. This issue impacted an otherwise lovely bathroom experience.
Location

The hotel is ideally situated in the heart of the village. Its proximity to key attractions makes exploring simple. There are many lovely pubs nearby, contributing to the area's charm.
Rooms
9/10
The room was superb, providing views of the castle. Decor created a nice and charming atmosphere. A comfortable bed added to the overall relaxation and satisfaction.
Dining
10/10
Breakfast was well presented, meeting high standards. Freshly made breads were a highlight, showcasing culinary skill. The availability of water and treats for our dogs showed great attentiveness!!!
Facilities
9/10
The oak-panelled drawing room offered a good setting. The roaring log fire was the perfect place to unwind before dinner. These features enhanced the relaxing atmosphere of the accommodation.

The reception rooms are beautiful and well cared for. It had a cannon ball exhibit from Oliver Cromwell's siege. I chose a smaller room in the main house and it had a lovely alcove seat. Big towels was a pleasure I did not expect.
I could hear other guests talking and slamming doors at night.

Satisfactory Stay

nice breakfastfriendly staffgood locationlimited menuexpensive breadsteep stairs
The location is pretty good. Breakfast tasted nice. Staff were friendly.
The menu was limited for dinner and stayed the same each night, so choice became difficult. I have never paid for bread at dinner before! Steep stairs existed with no lift.
