Heavenly Hideaway, A Romantic Getaway
very nice kindness amazing assortment quiet moments
The staff extended very nice kindness. They cared! The breakfast offered an amazing assortment of choices. Our room was large, with a separate sitting area. I relished the peace of the beautiful garden. It was perfect for quiet moments.
The walls seemed a little thin, and sounds carried easily from neighboring rooms.

adequate stay
helpful staff good breakfast dated decor shower temperature
the staff were friendly and helpful. they gave me lots of advice about madeira. the breakfast had good quality options and a great selection. i liked that they catered for vegetarians in the restaurant.
The room had dated decor. I felt it looked like my grandma's living room. the shower temperature was inconsistent. It changed from hot to cold without warning. i also heard the tv from the neighbors all night. i should have brought earplugs.

fluctuating temperature noisy air conditioning
I must say, the shower was quite disappointing. the water temperature fluctuated dramatically. It went from scalding to icy without warning. adjusting it to a comfortable temperature proved impossible. also, the air conditioning unit in the room seemed to have a mind of its own. I could not turn it off completely. it kept restarting and blasting cold air, accompanied by a rather loud noise during the night. sleep was difficult, even with earplugs.
